"Hoffman" Just for future reference I don't like to
publicly answer questions about rifles that are at auction or for sale on the net.
Now having said that I'll say that this rifle has been for sale for about a year. The price started out at around 20K and every so often the owner lowers the price. Once it fell below 6K I have had about a half-dozen inquires on it. The price is getting near where I would have made a run at it myself but it has a lot of problems. If you will look at the buttplate and notice the rust and the rust on other parts like the Lyman 48. I guess my bigger fear is the the bore is pitted. If anyone lives nearby have a look and please report back.
That's the bad part, the good part is that it's not a Hoffman rifle. The rifle was made by Fred Adolph for a man who one day would be part owner of the Hoffman Arms Company and he had the rifle re-barreled.
