I had a friend who several years ago ordered one from them. Waited for over a year to receive. When he finally did receive it he went to the sporting range to try it out. It failed to fire after a couple of stations. He sent it back for repair and waited for almost a year to get it back. I don't think it was ever right.And he dumped it.
With that said he went on to order a couple more from them. Lost track of the guy and not sure how they turned out.

Thank you all for the feedback. Since posting the original question, I learned (from FAMARS USA) that 'FAMARS' manufacturing is indeed closed.
As for the quality issue, it was explained to me that some of the 1980-90 era guns were not up to high standards, but that circa 1970 models should have no issues.
The replies to this inquiry were very informative and useful and helped form an opinion on whether to investigate further.
