any idea what it costs and who's best to fix a loose vent rib on a superposed? the rib is still good on both ends, just detached for 6" or so about 1/3 of the way up.

THANKS! actually not as bad as i thought it'd be but still bad enough. i swear it didn't appear loose when i bought it. i suspect someone superglued it back down or some such to get by long enough to sell it and the condition was so nice i wasn't suspicious enough to look closer.

Pretty common on the older guns, mostly round knob long tangs. The newer guns 70's or so used a different/better solder technique, eg, flat knob long tangs. The newer guns are better guns IMHO but oddly don't have the 'collector' value the old guns have.

Browning does not have a good reputation for fixing this problem while you are still interested. Send it to Art's.

Yep, pretty common thing with the Supers. I had one a few months ago a customer bought used, went and shot it a few times, then the rib popped. Upon me getting it someone had epoxied the rib.
I charged $500 to resolder the top rib and slow rust blue the barrels. The customer didnt want to pay extra to resolder all ribs.
