Tinker Sidelock Joined: Jan 2005 Posts: 948 Likes: 2 Northern NV	On that model (and type) of sidelock, the lock plates aren't flat. They sweep in to the wrist in a rounded fashion. There's a big difference in how a rounded sidelock feels in the hand compared to the typical sidelock action. The rounded sidelock is typically worth a little more - gun for gun - in that it takes quite a bit more work to make the rounded sidelocks. --Tinker

I don't think AYA or any of the other Spanish makers round off their locks. Boss did, and does, this. Purdey may do it, too. Boss created the "Round Body" look. You have to request it and it costs quite a bit extra for the feature of a 'round gun' I'd been considering having a Grulla round action sidelock built a few years ago. Their round guns are very pretty, handy and lively too. True-to-form round sidelocks. --Tinker
