I just ran across an excellent condition (looked near mint after my cursory examination) model 90 o/u in 410ga, marked "Ranger" (for Sears Ranger I presume) on the plain barrel with the matted top along the rib area. Double triggers of course, and beautiful wood with nice figure. What a sweet little gun this is, and I assume they are fairly rare in 410ga. They said blue book on it is $2450. The only obvious flaws I could see were a couple handling marks on the stock. Anyone know what the current selling price range is for this gun?

I'll bet that the next time we hear about that little gun we'll see just how nicely figured that beautiful stock really is! Bet the "couple of handling marks" won't be too obvious either...Geo
P.S.: Sunday night I finally 'won' an auction on an example of Mark's grain painting efforts. His pictures always blow me away; I am looking forward to having it in hand!

Thanks George,
If I get it I'll probably just leave it original. I was just curious how much they're going for these days.

I'd guess you could buy regular guage Marlin 90s for under a grand today. The .410 caliber is a big factor in the minds of some; not in mine...Geo

The only Marlin 90's I have seen in person were pretty plain, but have seen pics of some very nice ones. There was a good article a few years ago in one of the mags (SSM, DGJ, ?), and my recollection is that there were several grades. The nice ones looked very nice. Researcher probably has the scoop on these.

there was a long article on the Marlin Model 90 in one of the "Gun Digests" too. I'll look to see if I have it.
On cost/value I can help not at all. Except to note that I have been astonished/appalled at the ASKING prices of ALL double .410s (and some singles, pumps, and bolts....) that I have noticed on the InterNut recently! Including late model birch-stocked .410 Stevens 311s, IMO the worst insult to doublegun aesthetics ever spawned (late "Fox" Model BSEs come a close second in this ratrace!).

Mark, $2450 may be a stretch, but these guns are scarce and pricey. How about $1600 for a mint gun?

There are two Mod. 90 .410s listed on Gunsinternational, one for $1850 and one for $2250.00. Steve Cobb had one listed two or three months ago for $500.00 best I remember, it didn"t last a day. James
