Why sell that "gun" on Ebay and temp the rules? He sold that "project" gun for $500.00 plus. More than he would have gotten on any other auction site and he had a no return listing. So once paid and shipped he is done with that collection of parts.
The new owner, if handy, might repair the stock and the missing short under rib. Then he can deal with the bore pits and seeing if it is on face. If he farms the repairs out to a gunsmith he might double or triple his investment and still have a wall hanger. That is a classic example of "buying a pig in a poke".
For those who do not know a poke is a sack or bag. The pig reference was buying a "pig for eating", what is sold and perceived to be a dressed sucking pig. The sales is completed with "pig" in a closed sack without ever opening the sack to verify the contents. Later, after the deal is done, you discover the pig in question was a dog or cat dressed and sold sight unseen. The English colloquialisms means that something is sold or bought without the buyer knowing its true nature or value, especially when buying without inspecting the item beforehand. In this case I suspect the "dog or pig in a poke" will be a long term project if the buyer is not lucky.
