Hi Guys,
I have enjoyed reading previous posts about the relative merits of gun restoration versus the "keep everything original as possible" doctrine. I thought you might like to see some photographs of my guns that have been strip clean & serviced, action re-lacquered, checquering cleaned and recut, fore ends de-oiled and all the woodwork given a coat of oil.
This excelent work was carried out by the team at John Foster Gunmakers of Stockton on Tees, UK (who posts on this forum).
Last game shooting season in the UK was very wet and the guns were subject to some terrible weather so an overhall was essential. The guns have not been "tarted up" to look like mutton dressed as lamb but have been expertly cleaned and serviced ready for the coming season regardless of the weather.
Needless to say I am delighted with the work done.
Bob
