I'm looking at an Ithaca Lewis, made in 1905. Some things bother me. The gun is grade 1 or 1 1/2. The stock looks like an upper grade, but has no checkering. Could this have been ordered this way? Also, on the sides of the wrist where it meets the reciever, all Ithacas I have seen have like a triangular shape starting at the receiver and coming to a point a couple inches away from the receiver. This one does not. It does have an Ithaca butt plate. The gun was used for trap shooting. Could the stock have been special ordered? The gun is not in great shape, but it is something I can tinker with. But, It would be nice to know if it is at least original. Any ideas?
