Im looking for information and opinions on a Louis Delp boxlock. So far I know that Delp was a Hessian gunsmith who sold at least some guns to German royalty. The few Delp guns I found on the web were hammer guns and stylistically my gun looks somewhat like a pre-WWI Prussian gun with an unusually graceful receiver. The puzzle starts with the proofing which is Belgium and dates to 1949. The safety is in German, but barrels have no German markings and are unusual at 80 cm. (about 31.5 in.) Members of the German gun collectors organization speculate that its a Belgium gun made for the German market. I love the gun whoever made it. Whats your opinion German or Belgium and why. Thanks.
