Just went over to the UPS Store to ship some ammo I'd sold and was informed by the owner that "they'd just got a letter from Uncle Sam and been told that ammunition could only be shipped through the hubs". Not really a big deal for me as the hub is the same distance in the other direction but for some folks that could certainly create problems. He also said there was more paperwork involved now and that there would probably be an up-charge very soon as well. I'm sure this will keep some dire criminals from getting ammunition for their illegal firearms since they all ship it UPS don't ya know.....

Remember there are three ingredients to black powder: charcoal, saltpeter, and sulfur....might come in handy some day.....

UPS stores around me have never (10 years?) handled ammo. I had one refuse to accept a shotgun barrel so I use a hub for everything.

not a problem here, I never use the stores since one asked for nearly a hundred dollars to insure and ship an item. On a chance, I stopped at the hub on the way home - with the same package, shipped it - insured - for a little under $20

UPS Stores were never supposed to accept ammunition for shipping. If they accepted ammunition it was due to ignorance or failing to note what was in the shipment.
UPS has, at least for a significant number of years, required shipment from a hub.

Dunno, that's just what the man told me yesterday.
I've shipped cases and cases of ammo through that store over the past several years.
