Thanks for asking about the gun.
It's nice to get images of it out from time to time.
There's another dragon on the other side of the lever. One's more feminine, the other more masculine.
Most of the guns I've seen from that particular moment of time and from the neighborhood the gun was made in showed regional and/or national proofs.
This gun shows neither, only the Bernard proofs showing it's service pressure which is quite high for a sixteen bore gun of it's weight and vintage.
Over the past couple of years I've done quite a bit of research on the maker's name engraved on the locks and that of Mr Bernard.
Fun history project stuff.
Really though, the gun is just neat to handle. The engraving scenes are outta this world!
