Hi all,
Roux action drilling,12x12x303savage,safety on tang,barrel selector on rightside of triggers,markings in english (safe &R+S). made about 1912 for Roy Chapmen Andrews.engraved with Fred Adolph Genoa N.Y. around the round tang. am familiar with fred adolph but wonder who the makers were.
barrels are all stamped Krupp, proof marks eagle, crowned S. 2 each barrel; S in a six sided elongated box, rifle barrel; initials AW below forearm lug, initials wJ just above chamber. no markings on action body at all.
am amazed at the amount of information on this site!

AW is common. I assume the W/M is separate from the J, which typically is just forward of the rear lug. The S in a chevron is the stamp of Schilling forge. How 'bout some images?
