Tom Gibbons 2 page ad in gun list/digest has a Stevens sxs 16 ga. 90% blue 90% case 98% varnish. Receiver has bird dogs and birds in a game scene. Twin ivory beads, this is a early Stevens double very well made higher quaity than the later 311's and others. 595.00

Thats pretty much his description of the gun. My question is: What grade would this have been and isn't the price reasonable for a engraved Stevens? For the price I wouldn't think it's a grade similar to Daryl's. If you havn't seen his..........ask around or ask John Mann! Wish I could see this gun but Tom has no pics or web site.

If the barrels and bores are in good shape, good chokes, it's tight, and he's willing to give you a 3 day inspection, I say jump on it. Those are fairly rare and the few I've seen are really nice. Premium for 16b too, sad to say

Well..........I would be interested but, too many purchases already this month. Lefever, LC Smith and 2 junk Parkers. I have a soft spot for the hardware store guns. Especally when you find them with birds.......and dogs........oh my!
