Recently I aquired a Double that was found in a barn just prior to being demolished, Prior I mean the cables were hooked up and this was the last walk thru before the jerked it down,!
The amazing thing was that this shotgun had 42" barrels, the locks did not work but the stock was in good shape and not cracked, the barrels were rusty as well as all the metal parts,
I dropped the gun off with my favorite gunsmith(My Dad)on new years weekend, He has rebuilt several of these old shotguns for me over the years, some allot worse off then this, around the 15 of Jan he called and said it was hopeless, well I went down last weekend and viewed my hopeless gun, hope the pictures come out for you they sure do not do the gun justice,
I only wish I had taken more before pictures,
this is what he ended up with,
Bad thing is it has no names on the locks or barrels ,
it is marked london fine twist but has belgium proof marks ,
if anyone has any ideas I would love to hear them
