Am considering a redo of a stock but I am concerned that that I don't know anyone who is up to the challenge of replicating the original pattern of 30 lpi or smaller (haven't carefully measured) in a skip line pattern.
Any suggestions as to who might be good for this project?

You are right to choose carefully, bad chequer will ruin the gun - make sure the chap you choose gets the border shapes right for the gun as well as the chequer size and profile.
