Cool-looking drilling - never seen one like it. Wondered if Raimey or one of the other German-Austrian experts could shed light on it.

Has been a topic of sidebar discussions as of late and has issues. But Recoil Rob found it some time back:

Unusual looking hammers but I like it better than any other hammer drilling that I've seen.

Raimey,

The earlier thread escaped my notice. Thanks!

Ah no worries as it is difficult to keep tract of all that floats about but I'll have to credit Baumgarten for bringing it back around to my attention. He inspected it very closely.

Fukert patent locks, sometimes called "crown" locks. Gun cocks on opening, unlike most exterior hammer guns and has a safety. On my double it is a simple thumb safety. The Fukert patent has been used by many others. In recent years, a British auction house had a group of eight or so Fukert patent double rifles. Quite expensive and did not sell in at least the first go around. Vestidual [sp?] hammers can be individually cocked in the normal manner.

It has been recalled because there is a crack through the action according to the seller.
