MISSING: South Carolina, Female Boykin Spanielin the West Columbia Augusta Road / I-26 area. She was being transported to her new home and got loose. She has her collar and BSR tag on and is micro chipped. She is timid and has had surgery in the past week. She was last seen near a neighborhood behind Walgreens on Hwy 1 near I-26 in West Cola. Contact stores, gas stations, etc. in the area and leave word, phone #, email, description, pix, etc. with clerks and on bulletin boards, that you are looking for your lost dog. Ad in local paper might help, too.
That worked when my pal lost a Springer in Oregon. He wandered in and attached himself to whoever he first found, and that person picked up on the messages. Got him back.

I've always put my name and phone cell number, along with my wife's as an alternate, on a brass plate rivetted to the collars of my dogs. This would allow direct contact if I were on the road and lost a dog and a backup number as well. I used to have our address and the dog's name, but that stuff really doesn't add any value. Anyone that finds your dog will either call or not, regardless of the dog's name and your address.
I recently added the word "REWARD" to the plates as well, just for a little more incentive. How much would you reward someone for returning your bird dog?

DLFL: I just drove through the neighborhood behind the Walgreens on US #1 that you described with no luck in seeing your dog. It is very foggy here today and the area is pretty congested with homes, mobile homes & businesses. Chances are someone has found your dog & perhaps has turned her in to Animal Control.I don't see a direct number listed for West Columbia Animal Control but the West Columbia Police Dispatcher's number is (803) 794-0721.They can connect you with Animal Control. I hope that you find her.

I have an appointment in West Cola. tommorow morning. Will check around as well. Will also call local shelters. BSR probably has their contact info as well. I am located in Lexington and dad to 2 "brown dogs"
