Does anyone have a phone number or email address for Ed Landers the gunsmith in New Hampshire?
Thanks, Tim

Tim, I hope you are not going to do something rash.

Now known as Old Ed as in "...SO I GAVE IT TO OLD ED THE GUNSMITH FOR RESTOCKING AND RESTORATION. AS YOU CAN SEE, HE PERFORMED HIS USUAL FINE WORK." It appears ed1 is aware of this board as none of his current inventory has any adulterated case hardening that I can see. Old Ed is in the wood business now and probably doesn't want contact from the outside world, ergo the new moniker.

Mike, thanks for the number. I was able to contact him. He seemed like a very pleasant man.
Someone from this board refered him to me and said he has a reputation for being a very good gunsmith despite his association with Ed Good.
I am looking at purchasing a set of in the white Fox Sterlingworth barrels but am having trouble getting a rough idea of how much it would cost to have them fit. I was told Ed has fit some in the past, but he still said he would need to see them to give an estimate.

To give Ed Good a fair shake, I once bought an A grade Fox from him on Auction Arms. The time that it took me to decide not to keep the gun, must be measured in microseconds. But he refunded every last dime, less shipping, without a whimper. I then bought another gun from him and it was fine. I figure it is my responsibility to be selective.

I have thought about buying a couple guns from Ed Good. But when I asked about his return policy. He said he only takes returns if gun is not as advertised. He wouldn't refund my money, just because I wasn't happy with the gun. I've not even considered one of his guns since.

Dave, maybe he was nice since I live in Maine and had his N.H. address.

Hansli says none of his current inventory has any adulterated case hardening. Oh yes it does. He has a lot of listings around on several different sites, but here's two on GunBroker that have been ruined by this hack: 57252140, a nice Brummie built hammer gun, and 57252151, a nice Francotte 16. The leopards spots are still there, it seems. What a shame these two nice guns are added to the many he has ruined with a gas torch.
