Hello Ive heard there are alot of hoops to jump through to deal with in Calif. Im thinking about buying a pre 1899 shotgun that in Calif. I have a C & R. What does the guy sailing or I have to do. He is not a dealer. Bob

Bob, You can read it from the CA DOJ website. I don't believe there are any additional requirements beyond verifying that the gun is over 50 yrs old and following your state requirements. But for a pre 1899, you don't even need a C&R.

Thank You I live in Alaska and as for the state laws, they go by the Feds.

Bob, There is not any problems from us Califorians to purchase or purchase from guns pre 1899.

there really is no problem with shipping long guns too and from california. much of the negative hype one hears is much to do about nothing...again.
keep it simple and keep it safe...
