I have just acquired a 1950s era Beretta double with an articulated front trigger. What is its real purpose and how does it function? Information please.

Tom
when you fire the rear trigger, if the front one comes back under recoil to bite your trigger finger, it "gives" & doesn't bite.
I have both types, but the un articulated never bit me. But the one with the spring is a nice classy touch, even if not needed
cheers

Also works if you are wearing gloves.

Never had a problem with a non-articulated front trigger but have had an uncomfortable time with my middle finger being beaten black & blue by the outside rear of the trigger guard on a DT gun. Simple clamp-on 'rubber bumper' stops the pain.

Well-beaten hand!

Cured by one of these
