I need to reblue a set of Win. 101 barrels. Were the 1970's barrels ""soft"" soldered or Braised? Those that were made by Kodensha. Jim

Weren't they all made by Olin-Kodensha? Or at least in that plant, even after Classic Doubles took over??

To my knowledge, yes. The new one is a Belgium/FN gun. JR

Right. I wish they'd changed the model # on the new one, to avoid potential confusion in discussions--although the differences are obvious when you see the two side by side.

Yeah, Larry, that was a bad idea to hang the old model number on the new gun, which, BTW, seems the be an excellent gun. The should have used Model 102 or some such.

Agree that it doesn't look like a bad gun, Don. My hunting partner had one of the new ones for awhile. Worked OK, but he never really warmed up to it. He has one of the Japanese-made 12ga lightweights, and I don't think he's likely to part with that one.

Larry, I will stick with my old Kodensha made 101s too. Not likely that I will ever own one of the new Belgium FN made 101s, unless they do the right thing and make them in all the small gauges.
