The basic proceedure for almost all boxlock double guns is this-- the jaws of the stock are set so that you need to remove the sear axel pin (lower rear of the receiver)- with the gun cocked and the barrels and forearm removed, take a striker block or a solid piece of wood, place it over the standbreech, release the safety and let down each hammer-this takes the cocking pressure off the sears and the axle- and you will need to drift out that pin completely before you can remove the buttstock- the other two areas that anchor the tangs/trigger plate to a boxlock are the recessed headed set screw that you see when you move the top lever over to open the gun- just set the lever to the right and you can see this- and the rear tang set screw that holds the top and bottom tangs at the rear- near the grip and comb of the stock- removal of the trigger guard bow will give you access to this machine screw- go slowly, use soft or padded hammers to tap- and if you tap the wood- tap always at the thickest section- not the edge- good luck!!
