Once in a great while I get back one of the 24 ga Berettas that I imported. the last one was 2 years ago. These were all 686 models. I sold them new for $995 and provided 2 boxes of ammo with them.

One thing about it, if I start carrying a 24 gauge my shooting student Joe Wood will have to stop mooching shells.
I switched to a sixteen so he went out and bought one.
Best,
Mike

As I recall the story, that was why the Prince of Wales (after whom the stock pattern is named) had his guns made in 14 gauge.

I didn't know my shooting student Joe Wood hunted with the Prince of Wales but it is certainly no surprise to me that the Prince went to a 14 gauge to stop that nonsense.
Best,
Mike

John Boyd Quality Arms Sounds like I may have had one of yours, John. Did they have sling swivels and double triggers??

I thought mine was a nice little gun for the money. If it hadn't been for those darned tight chokes, I might have played around with it longer. But then there's also the ammo issue.

Larry:
You should have had it opened up.
No problem of ammo. Fiocchi. I keep about 5 cases on hand and when I see I am getting low, I order more

The Southern SXS has a Robin Hollow 24 gauge tournament and Vintage Cup has a 24 gauge class as well. However, less than handful of people shoot 24 gauge SXS and only one or two shoot a 24 gauge hammer so your chance for a high finish are pretty good. So bring em on out the Vintage shoots! Also the most recent Shooting Sportsman Sporting Shot has an article on 24 gauge guns on page 14: http://bluetoad.com/publication/?m=18740&l=1
