Steve,
For my 12g damascus guns I was using a 1 oz load at 1150 fps. I changed shot size for the various applications such as quail, chukar or pheasant. For wild pheasant, I went to #5 shot. They seemed to wack a rooster pretty hard out as far as the chokes were doing their job.

Hi, I've used B&P, RST and New Era. All are good, but as of late I've been using New Era. The owner Brian will custom load shells for you also. He just did a batch that I'll be using in my damascus guns, 1oz, 1150fps and sub 6000psi. Great guy to deal with and gives you that real face to face type service.

RST's are fine and so are B&P, the B&P's do have a thump when compared to other 2 1/2" loads.

For sharpies and pheasants I use 1 1/8oz (12ga), 1 1/16oz (12ga) or 1 oz (12 and 16ga) of #6 or #5 depending on the time of year and weather conditions.

Best of luck to you!

Greg

Hi Steve, happy to help! One thing I did forget to mention, New Era is basically a small operation just getting off the ground. The reason why I say this, is, the shells don't have that factory type perfect look about them. When you get the shells, you'll have to put the shot size or whatever other information on the hulls (this info is on the box however). I just use a marker.

With that being said, the proof is the performace of these loads. They work. No problems at all with misfires or any issues with hulls you find with reloads. They just are flat out good, regardless of how they may look.

Brian is always looking for suggestions to improve, so let him know what you think.

He also reloads Non-Tox ITX shot for $45 a box of 25 (that's a good deal IMO).

Anyway, I hope your happy with them, I'm sure you will.

All the best!

Greg

Greg got me onto New Era Ammo. I have had great results. Good patterns and clean burning. I mosttly use 1 ounce loads. Mild recoil for clays. Brian has loaded some 1 1/8 field 16 gauge load as well. Great product. I've been buying bulk cases(no boxes) and save a few bucks.
