I have mislaid my copy of the second part of Dr Gaddy's published article on re-case hardening.

Does anyone know if it's available on the web, as is Part 1? I've Googled it to no avail.

If not could some kind soul who has it in electronic / scanned form email it to me please? It's such a bind going via snail mail.

The rights to this article belongs to The Double Gun Journal now. And you could buy this volume from them.
I got the full story typed by Oscar in draft, he sent to me one day. But sorry I can't do this at least in memory of Oscar.

Geno, you've got a sacred document! While it's good to see you respect that gift and the man who passed it on to you, I don't feel it would be disrespectful to help Mal out in this case. In fact, I daresay Dr Gaddy would have done the same.

Whilst being no lawyer, as I've already paid for one copy I don't believe the copyright issue arises; but if no one wants to help so be it.

Many here on forum are on the cheap. What, pay for some thing when you can rationalise doing copy right infringements or asking for copy of personal letter? Geno: you do it for one and you'll have other cheapos asking to do it for them too. Tell them to buy the Double gun journal volume. Buying one copy of a magazine doesn't grant right to copy articles to others. Dr Gaddy was paid for his Double journal article. Double jourmal owns text for 20 years unless renewed. You don't have to be a copy right lawyer to understand that.

Couldn't agree more.

Enough enough.

JayCee and Nitro you've convinced me I'm a cheapskate and unworthy to ask a civil question. Also that Pt 1 is in the public domain and Pt 2 isn't.

I thank you for you kindness, help, understanding and generosity, and for the open hearted spirit of your replies.

I don't believe that Oscar was paid by DGJ. Kreighoff paid him when they came to his shop and made a film on his methods. My memory also says that a Turkish company made a similat visit and paid for his help.

All articles in magazines are copy righted by the publishers unless noted other wise. Some one who has this Double journal artical can check and see if it says its in the public domain.

Hello Eug,

I think you read me wrong. I agree with Krakow Kid's opinion:

In fact, having shared this BBS with Dr. Gaddy for some years, I am sure he would have.
