Talked to a guy at the gun club a couple weeks ago who asked me about a Beretta 12ga he picked up at a local show. Turned out to be a slightly later model than the one above: GR-2, double triggers (front articulated) and extractors. Nice gun other than some blotches on the barrels, likely from having been left in a case while wet. He paid $500 for it, asked me if he got a good deal. I laughed and offered him $550.

Ha ha if only! In Australia we pay through the nose for anything with a bit of class.
This has double triggers and ejectors. But it makes a nice, younger stable mate for the others.

Is the receiver some kind of alloy other than steel ? Joe I am not sure, It seems light for steel so it might be an alloy? How would I tell? What is really cool is that for a 1951 Italian gun, its VERY similar in dimensions to my 1883 greener. They look like cousins.

I have a friend that has a 20 ga. Model 410E. It is an excellent gun. You got it at a good price. It is steel.
The "Pigeon" on the lever is (real) silver. It will tarnish.

The taste of poor quality lingers long after the cheap price is forgotten.........

Finally! Thanks Roy for posting great pictures confirming that my old Beretta was in fact the Model 410E as I had thought. I'd never seen pics before of the double scalloped back of the frame. Mine's dated 1952 and has an articulated front trigger, straight grip, and rather surprisingly well figured wood...Geo
