Hollis is a name found in both the records of the Birmingham and London gun trade.If I read you post correctly ,your gun is named; "A.Hollis."This being the case, we find the business located and named in London as follows;
A.Hollis @ Co; Dunster House,Mincing lane London in 1897
A.Hollis & Son,15 Victoria Street,London 1902-5
A.Hollis & Son,28 Victoria Street,London 1906-20
H.R.H.The Duke of Connaught,Prince Arthur,born 1850 was A son of Queen Victoria, as such,he likely issued a warrant allowing Hollis to use his name
The Duke spent much of his life in the British army reaching the rank of Field Marshal.
During the first world war he also served as Governor General of Canada.
I would be surprised if any records of the A.Hollis gun sales exists. Lets see what other have to say on this issue!
