Linford(lynn) Hunt, a NYC area sportsman had a favorite coon hound and wanted a new Ithaca SBT with its image inlaid into it. This Hunt was a friend of the artist Lynn Bogue Hunt and had him draw the sketches he wanted on the gun. These were then sent to Ithaca where Bill McGraw put them on the gun. Below is one of Hunt's images for the left side of the gun showing a photo of the dog, LBH's pen and ink drawing of it and McGraw's silver inlay. I have enough info on LBH and the later years of Linford's life but could use a little help on his earlier days in NYC. e.g. when was he born, what did he do to accumulate enough wealth to shoot trap, etc. I do know his ATA average for 1931 was 90.80 while the great Joe Hiestand was 97.38.
Any of you old trap shooters have any knowledge of this fellow?
This gun will hopefully be fully discussed in a future DGJ article.
