With the DC area's largest gun show making it's quarterly appearance just west of Fairfax, VA this weekend, it got me thinking about finally stopping by the new Robert E. Petersen gallery at the National Firearms Museum. All I can say is... forget the Smithsonian! This is the museum to visit these days. By far the most impressive display of sporting arms of importance these eyes have ever seen. Simply mind-blowning in terms of incredible examples of many of the masters SxS and double rifles. If you're making time to visit the Nation's Gun Show in Chantilly, you should do yourself the favor of making the short drive to the NRA HQ in Fairfax to visit the museum's somewhat new addition. As many already know, they also have the 3 known Parker Invincibles stashed in the back by the Beretta gallery... if that kind of thing does it for you.
