Honest description for a change, from a certain viewpoint. Admits to a nice torch color job. Looks crapy to me but I am sure that the dealer thought it was an improvement.

That Philadelphia Arms Co. gun has just a touch more engraving then the usual A-Grade. Does anyone have the serial number so I can add it to my table of observed Phily Arms guns? Stephen Cobb has an A-Grade with the barrels and trigger guard reblued, and the wood refinished for an asking price of $1400, and he's had it since at least the 2005 Vintage Cup. On his site he lists the serial number as 80X, and I can't find my notes on the gun. Just looked at it again at Sandanona.

Dave, I have data on 2 of these guns, both are A Grades;

1, serial # 59, 30" barrels, p/g stock, hrbp, splinter f/e w/metal tip, engraving zigzag borders with some line work and florishes, marked on action sides A H Fox. finish is well worn. belongs to a friend

2. serial #1020, 30" barrels, p/g stock, recoil pad (not original), splinter f/e no tip, engraving as #59, marked on action sides Fox. this gun has 50-60% cc and 90+% barrel blue, unfortunatly a butcher has been working on the wood. I own this one

Dave, I own #914 which is an A grade 12ga with 30" Krupp barrels chokes Full/Full. It also has about 60% original case color. Heavy sucker too...
