What options are availabe in the way of creating cast on a through bolt stock? Can one be bent?

If necessary, I replace the bolt with a rod of the same size, threaded on each end, and a nut and washer to replace the bolt head.
The rod can be bent after being screwed into the action, and then does not turn as the nut is tightened.

Bending the bolt is easy. Tough part is altering the face of the stock to mate up with the back of the receiver. Bending the bolt will result in a wedge-shaped void between the receiver and stock. Depending on the configuration of the face of the stock, the job is simple or complicated

I can move a K-80 about .250 inches on cast and about 3/8 change in drop. Relieve the tang inletting (less than 1/16) shim the stock over and then rebed the action. The same trick also works on drop only you don't remove wood. Just shim and rebed. Depending on your color matching skill the tiny amount of bedding won't show, however the drop change can show as the wood gets proud of the metal. You will have to judge how much you want to show. K-80's tolerate quite a bit of change.
