Is there such a thing? If so I would love to find one with 30" barrels to match my 12. With the addition of double triggers it should make a perfect dove gun.

It may not be exactly what you are looking for, but check out some of Cole's listings: Coles Cole's
Such a long, long time to be gone, and a short time to be there.

Are you looking for a big frame gun or a small frame gun? My small frame 686 Onyx 20 was an X gun from Beretta USA for about $650. I can't even look at new Berettas at Cole's prices.

I wouldn't buy a gun from Cole. Buy the gun somewhere else and have him do the work. I have always wanted to have one built and I will eventually.
You can pick up a 686 Onyx 20ga for $1K or so. Then send it Coles and let him restock the gun. I would put another $1000 or more into the wood. For that you can get some drop dead gorgeous stocks. Then, for $300, Coles will change your single trigger to a double trigger.
The biggest problems are in the barrels. You're not likely to find many (or any) 686s 20ga with 30" bbls. You could buy new ones but that would cost another $1500.
If you are willing to accept 28" bbls you can get away with a nice gun for somewhere in the $2300-$2800 range.

Why not just buy a Silver Pigeon II? Readily available in 20 ga with 30" barrels for $2K+/-. If you really want to match your 686 Black Onyx in 12 ga, buy a BO 20 and a Silver Pig 20, then swap the barrels and sell the Pig.

Now I know what I am going to do when it comes time to build my gun! Adam

I have been "building" my 682 20 gauge since 1987. I have gone through three sets of wood and five sets of barrels. I have not yet had to seek professional help to fit a set of barrels or a set of wood. These are great guns that can be fooled with for very little money if you keep your nose to the ground.

I would probably settle for a 686 Black Onyx and get the triggers swaped. I think I paid about $1100 for the 12 Sporting Model. Not pertty but it fits me well and I can hit with it. I guess there was no Black Onyx "Sporting" 20 made then?

I think the last time I looked at a set of 686 barrels was about 2007 and they were in the $600 range, have they gone up that much?

" I guess there was no Black Onyx "Sporting" 20 made then?" Nope . Closest you will come (dollar wise) is a S686E if you have to have 30" bbls . Not real common but there are a few out there . Might want to check here : http://joeletchenguns.com/berettan.htm
