I am trying to get a handle on value. I have not seen any for sale. This one is 99+% as new, unfired, with original box, paper goods as included by Remington and has FJA Inspectors marks and Ordnance Crossed Cannons cartouche stamped in stock which is correct. Gun has one or two light handling marks in the wood. Appears to never have been fired or used since it was proofed and packed at the factory.

Unfortunately collector value is too high to enjoy shooting it !!! A superb rifle, final development of the 1913, IMO the equal in every way of the Pre64M70. At a guess, $1500-2500 - a wide range.

I've seen them from time to time for sale and they all seem to be new or like new.

The last one I that I remember for sale was engraved "'USMC Eastern Division Pistol Champion 1973" with an asking price of $2500 I have no idea if it sold.

Jack Appel, the Remington collector, owned a .30'06 with a 22" barrel and a K2.5 sidemounted by G&H. He shot chucks with it. His son Freddy, a NYPD detective, has it now. It goes back more than half a century but I vaguely remember that we tossed a coin for which of the two of us would buy it, Jack won.

$2500-$3000 IMO, an absolutely splendid rifle but too valuable to shoot.

Still worth 2-4 times more than a 30, regardless.

My gosh, and the 30 was a reject Model 1917. By the way, there are still a bag of 1917s in the factory that were never shipped, at least there were a few years ago.
