I would like to make a leather covered recoil pad, anyone know where I could find some pics or a video describing the process?

If you are a novice at this, plan on making three. Chances are the third one MIGHT be good enough to put on a decent gun. This is not sarcasm. It's advice.

You hit the head on the nail, Kensal. I made one(my first) for my AYA and am getting ready to try to get it better, the second time. Wondering if anyone has tried deerskin, or is it too fragile? Does the new, politically correct Barge Cement work well? I tried Pliobond on the first one and was not happy with the way it stuck(or didn't). The instructions in MMC and DT's book, Shotgun Technicana, seemed quite good, to me.
Thank you,

Thanks for your kindness. I've learned the hard way (as usual). Barge Cement works well IF you thin it about 50/50 with Barge Cement thinner. A helpful bootmaker will sell you some at far less than you can buy/ship it from Barge.

Straight Barge Cement is too thick and lumps up under thin leather.

Deer skin might be to thick unless of course you find some that is skivved real thin. It does stretch and I wish I could find some thin enough to try on a pad. I have had good success with contact cement.
