I just removed an old dried out Jostam recoil pad from a B grade Baker and am looking to replace it with a correct butt plate. I will be looking for an original at a few shows coming up but if I have to get a replacement I've noticed that both Dutchmanwoodworks and Galazan sell them. Has anyone purchased a butt plate from either company? How was the workmanship?

Jack, there were two buttplate styles for Bakers. The early ones had the B G F Co. entwined in a logo, while the later ones had BAKER written across the middle. The reproductions from either company seem fine. Daryl

It is serial #3; so should have the B G F Co. plate.
Will be looking for the forearm wood as well.

I purchase an Ithaca butt plate from Dutchmanwoodworks and was quite pleased.

I purchased an Ithaca buttplate from Vintage Gun Grips. The first size I chose wasn't quite right. I spoke to Joy and she said send it back with a tracing of my original and they'll send me the correct one. Didn't even charge shipping! I highly recommend them for reproductions.

Yes, that would certainly take the early butt plate. I would sure like to see a picture of this gun.

Thanks for the tip about Vintage Gun Grips, I will check them out as well if I cannot find an original.
As soon as my partner can find their digital camera and take some shots I will post some pics. The gun is in rather nice condition being as old as it is.
