Bought this the other day on G/b looks like a Sedgley Springfield, will see for sure when it gets here. What do you think? http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=173003551
I learn something every day, and a lot of times it's that what I learned the day before was wrong

I think it could be a Sedgley. Checkering pattern, including the triangle patch behind the tang looks like Sedgley.
Sights are right, and shaping of stock appears right.
Michael Petrov's book gives some more tips on what to look for when it arrives.
Regardless, if you're not put off by the low number.......I don't think you got hurt buying it!

Sure looks like a Sedgley to me, should have their name on the barrel. Let us know when you get it. Great rifle at a wonderful price.

It took you 21 minutes to make up your mind?
Maybe get his 1903 Colt to go with it?
Congratulations, nice find.

Sure looks to me like a Sedgley. Just the way I like them, a little honest wear, but not altered or drilled full of holes. Sedgley carried his comb nose very far forward and so many of his rifles that you find have had the comb nose cut back. Yours looks unaltered. You did very well. Only problem I see is that you found it before i did.

That front sight looks to be the same one that came on my Rem M30. JD once called it the second ugliest sight he had ever seen.
