Just to clarify, other than the factory there is nothing similar between a Miroku 500 and a BSS. Miroku has chopper lump barrels, action is a true A&D copy leaf springs and all, and stock is NOT a through bolt. NO parts interchange.
The Miroku is a MUCH better upland gun than the BSS but possibly the BSS would take the pounding of frequent heavy loads better.
I have owned a number of the 500s and the only failure I had was a broken fireing pin (intergal to the hammer) which had to be welded and ground to fit. IE don't dry fire these guns.
