Model 31 Remington 12 gauge, all steel, corncob forearm, 28" full choke barrel, round barrel, 98%+ overall and original. You almost look for the factory price tag on it at second glance.

Does it have the big trigger assembly that extends back into the stock a half inch -- ie the 1941 model? I paid $325 for such a gun with 30-inch full last spring. The earlier guns (1931 and 1934 models) with the smaller trigger guard and trigger assembly aren't considered quite as desirable because the grip isn't as comfortable for most.

Researcher - I have a strong interest in Mod 31's - I own a couple of 16's, and 3 20's. Do you know of any Guide or, Articles on them ?

They are great pumps ! In the running with Model 12s, in my opinion, well almost to that level.

Prepare to pay for condition. No way will a near perfect gun sell for less than five bills, at least not if I owned it.

31 is a better gun than a 12. The design is near problem free. The finish stays on the gun instead of rubbing off. If I were in survival mode and looking for reliability the 31 would be my choice bar none.

I recently purchased a well-used (but not abused) 20 gauge Remington Model 31 with 70% blueing, mint bore, non-buggered screws, with a 26" CYL plain barrel for $120. Non checkered stock with corncob forend. That was probably a bargain.

The non-collector quality 31's don't bring any more than any other "ole pump gun" around St. Louis. Most people don't realize what gems they are.
