I owned one of these for about 20 years, and shot it a lot. Mine was accurate enough...it was a medium weight octagon barrel, in .22-250 and would reliably put 5 shots into .75" at 100 yards. As far as reliability goes, it never failed to fire or eject spent cases. The "new" 1885 Brownings and Winchesters are the same rifle, mechanically. The newer rifles have a somewhat simplified trigger, but that's about the only difference. Bear in mind that these are now 30 year-old rifles, and your accuracy is going to depend largely on how well previous owners took care of them...or not.
