Mike opened the too-tight chokes in a Husky 310 and in a full choked Rem Model 31 for me a couple of weeks ago. I mailed the barrels to him on a Tuesday, I think, and had them back by the following Monday, perfectly done; they must have been done the day he recieved them.

He emailed me his very reasonable bill and when I replied immediately that I had put a check for payment in the mail, his response was that he'd already shipped the barrels back to me. I may have gotten the barrels back before he got my check.

The problems others say they are encountering are a mystery to me. I suspect the 'complaints' may just be some of Mike Orlen's satisfied customers attempting to keep his bench open to their own barrel work?...Geo

Thanks Vol423 & Geo. for putting my mind at rest. Will be sending the barrels to Mike as soon as I can stop shooting this little Husky. She's a fun gun to shoot grin.

Reportedly SIMPSON LTD in Illinois bought a large lot of older swedish shotguns two years ago, and imported into USA. Cabela's bought some of them. Simsons still has many listed on their site. All seem to be well made.

Supposedly Swedish hunters have to turn in an old shotgun when they buy a new one; and these were supposed to be the turn-ins.

I bought two of these (hammerless) and have been pleased. For whatever reason, most that I have seen were choked FULL and FULLER. I also had my chokes opened.

I had some computer problems, but finally managed to upload the Husqvarna pictures. Here they are.

The top one is a model 17C combinatie in 16Ga / 9.3x57R360. The C indicates the caliber if the rifle barrel. Lefaucheux system.
The second one is a model 43 top lever in 16 Ga.
The third one is a model 47 toplever, 16 Ga.

Top: Model 42 toplever in 12 Ga with damast barrels.
Middle: Model 49 toplever 16 Ga with damast barrels. This gun is factory restored. A service offered by Husqvarna in the 1970's and 80's.
Bottom: Is a "ugly" Lefaucheux model 20 in 12 Ga. Also factory restored.

Wow, those are neat looking Huskies, especially the straight grip guns. I love my Model 51 and Mike Orlen is not what those other guys say he is. I'm sure he does great work and sends guns back in time, I think.

Beautiful guns Fritz. Thanks for sharing them with us. I'm green with envy. If you need any of them "field tested" I'll try them in my grouse and woodcock coverts smile. Those top lever guns are awesome but they seem to be as scarce as hens teeth especially in 16 ga.(my favorite). Guess I'll just have to carry my "ugly" Model 20 wink. I do have myself conviced that I need to find a Model 17 or Model 20B to balance out the gun safe.

Thanks Ed........oh my wife thanks you too mad grin. Luckily (for her) their mostly 12 ga. and I'm a confirmed 16 ga. nut, but the Model 310AS is tempting. If it were the "perfect" ga. I'd be a goner grin.

7/8 and 1 ounce loads are a joy to shoot in a 12 bore.
