Suggest that you may wish pattern the gun BEFORE doing the polish work. Sometimes a slightly rough choke will throw very nice patterns, but you won't know until you see what it is going to do at the plate. You may also wish to do your final polish using a portable drill motor while patterning the gun. You can use a piece of drill rod with a slit cut in its end and plumbers emery cloth or crocus cloth for final polish, but be cautious not to allow it to out past the end as it is quite possible to create a 'bell' there. Just some thoughts.
