Hello,

Hoping someone with a Parker Repro 12 ga. can provide weight with 26" and/or 28" bbls and straight stock.

Many thanks,

Jerry

Cabelas has a two barrel set and give the weight for the 26" barrels as 6-1/2 lbs.

They have another 26" they list as 6lbs 10oz:

They have another 2 barrel set they list as 7lbs but they don't say with which barrel:

Best,

Mike

I have a 28", straight stock/splinter forend 12 Ga. Repro that weighs 7 lbs., 2 oz. I used to have a 28", BT/PG Steel Shot Special that weighed 7 lbs., 4 oz. It's hard to believe the 6 1/2 lb. claims since that's what my 20 ga Repro (26"/St. stock/Spl. forend) weighs!

I've had five 12 ga. Parker Repro Steel Shot Specials, all BTFE and PG and they all weighed 7 1/4-7 1/2 lbs. I think any Parker repro 12 ga will weigh at least 7 lbs., with rare exceptions.

I've owned 3 Repro 12's. All straight/splinter/DT. All mine fall into the "rare exception" category (under 7#, but not by much) with the lightest one--26" barrels--weighing 6/10.5 (all weighed on a postal scale). I had an A1 Special 2-barrel set that went 6/11 with 26", 6/12 with 28". Personally, for something that mimicks an American 12, I think the weight on the 12ga Repros is quite good. You'll have trouble finding originals that weigh as little.

Thanks fellas. I agree that the weights Cabelas is claiming are too low for 12's as that's what the 20's typically weigh in at. Wish they'd raise the weight and lower the price...

Actual 12 ga. weights are what I wanted to hear... sounds just about right.

I have a Sporting Clays Classic model with 28" bbls. that weighs in at 7 lbs. 3 oz. It's the gun on the right in the pic below.

Some 12's don't weigh much more than Repro 20's. IMO, they did the worst job getting weight down where it should be on the 20's. Not at all unusual to find them weighing 6 1/2 or a bit more. 28's and 12's are where they should be, and with 16ga barrels on a 20ga receiver, they're also quite good.
