Looking at extended choke tubes for my RBL. Anyone have some suggestions/opinions?

Thanks!

The RBL has the tru-choke system threads. That's great because you can get the chokes from many sources. I have 32" barrels on my RBL and they do not touch at the muzzles like most guns. That gives more space for extended choke tubes. I had Carlsons install screw in chokes in a Rem 1100 Magnum so I could shoot steel shot and was supplied with their extended sporting clay choke tubes in Light mod and improved Mod. They guarantee these stainless steel chokes to take the beating from steel shot in all the constrictions. They are made with a parralell section at the end of the choke and this helps in good patterns. I recently patterned my RBL to get an idea what it would do with steel shot. The supplyed chokes did ok. The Mod choke printting about a full choke pattern with 1 1/4-4 steel. With BB's the results were a little erratic. I forgot to bring the improved Mod choke and only had one sheet of paper left when I tryed the Carlson light mod choke. I was treated to an evenly dispersed pattern as tight as the CSMC Mod choke, so I would call it a full choke pattern. I know the improved mod choke patterns steel very tight from field experience but have not shot it at paper to check it. More patterning is needed with steel and these chokes to see what I want to use in the blind but I was impressed by that single pattern with the Carlson choke tube. Wonder if CSMC will supply extended chokes with the Sporting clay RBL model they are now building? Hope this helps you out.

Comp-N-Choke keeps tubes in stock threaded with the tru-choke system threads in everything from -.005" through .030".

Probably has them in the Kick's High Flyer line of tubes as well.

You can Google Comp-N-Choke for more information.
