Hello all I just wanted to let you know just what kind of people belong to these 2 organizations. I had the pleasure of attending the show for all 3 days with 10 of my gunsmithing students and the incredible welcome as well as the time that all the members spent with the students was just unbelievable. Questions were answered photos allowed and just an outpouring of information and inclusion, well it was overwhelming. To all who were in attendance THANK YOU and to everyone please make plans for next year you owe it to yourself to see the work and meet some incredible people.
Thank you again
Michael J

Michael:

We should be thanking you for bringing the students to the show. An instructor of gunsmiting that takes his job as seriously as you obviously do is of great value to us all.

It was an honor and pleasure to meet you Sir.

Respectfully,

Glenn Fewless

Mr. HST sir: I've picked up on a couple of posts here about a single shot that you might have had at the show. Could it be of the Fraser persuasion or some other type of falling block? A curious mind suffering from the winter blahs is wondering what you've been up to! The goundhog didn't see his shadow here today!! Only 4 months til the next shooting season. Bob

Mr. Saathoff:

The rifle I had at the Guild show was a collaboratory effort by Mr. Doug Mann and myself. I did the metal work and he put the handle on it. The rifle is based on a restored early original Gibbs action. (#92, pictured on page 93 of the Winfer book, for those of you scoring along at home...) The barrel is a 26" integral rib affair and it is chambered for the .500-3" Express.

Here are a few pitchers of it in the white. We had the rifle professionally photographed by Tom Alexander when it was in Reno, and I should get those pictures in about a week.

There is a Fraser on the horizon.

Beautiful work Glenn. That full rib is amazing! The effect that the angles and squiggles give to the top of the rib is very unique. The lines and the polish are amazing too. I'm sure it will have engraving added later, won't it? Thanks for sharing. Bob

All Hail Chief Mook,

May I echo Bobs remarks, a superb piece of work Glenn. Please keep us updated as the work progresses.

Mr. Fewless,

I would be most interested in a status update on your progress with the Fraser action?

Lynn:

I am afraid the Fraser action lanquishes in the safe, and will probably stay there until the Gibbs Farquharson sells.

It will likely be a smaller caliber, like the .303, and have a stepped full length rib like the high end original rifles. I am really looking forward to building that rifle. The Fraser is my favorite action.

Best regards,

Glenn

Thanks for the feedback. I will keep watching for yours in the future.
Like you it is also my favorite. I did build one a few years ago, not an exact duplicate as that is not what I do. IMHO I improved it a bit. Most have said it turned out well.

Anyway please keep us posted
