Looking for a picture of the ram rod entry pipe on a percussion gun made about 1841. The stock has a piece missing at the end of the front of the stock and I am not sure if there was a metal holder or it was just wood. Any insite appreciated. Pic to dwtbeske@hotmail.com
Thanks,
Dwight

I have a Joseph Manton from the 1830's, and a Henry Egg 1850's. Both have a metal end piece. I do have a picture of the fore end and fitting on the Henry Egg. (No idea how to post it, but I think I could e-mail it to you.) As I remember, the basic set up is similar to the Pedersoli reproduction, which might make a reasonable pattern starting point. I'm not home so I can't check on this right now. Pedersoli parts can be purchased from flintlocksetc.com.

You might also find useful photos on the "Roosevelt and Drake" site.

Thanks for the pics etc. So far Track of the Wolf has end pieces, another site listed some by a Cash but no pics. Will check on the flintlock site. I think they mostly had them but saw a pic of nice Brit gun without piece. Maybe it was missing.
Anyway will do a little more investigating.
