I want to thank those members on the board that had responded to my two previous posts in regards to a sxs to shoot sporting clays. I had originally planned to get a 12 g RBL. I had visited the factory three times as well as went to the Vintagers event this year to be able to shoot one. I unfortunately came away a little cold on the gun, as much as I wanted to really like it.
One of the posts to my thread had suggested a Poli, which I did investigate and found that it was very nice but out of my target price range of about 3-4K. However, in my internet trolling I did manage to find a Poli Opal Sporting which is exactly what I have been looking for and actually below my price point.
I would not have considered this gun without the input of this board. It is a clays gun with 30” barrels which are overbored to 0.735", Briley thin wall choke tubes, long forcing cones, matted flat rib, case colored action and side plates with real (not laser) engraving, palm swell with fine checkering that did not have to be touched up and double triggers that break crisply at about 4 lbs.
I have shot a couple of rounds of skeet as well as a round of SC and it performs wonderfully, comes up to the target like an extension of my arm and crushes targets. I plan to shoot a couple of hundred rounds over the weekend to further cement our “relationship” but I am very impressed so far.
Thanks for the help
Z
