MR Pawnbroker you keep asking questions that take time to answer by many here but I never read you thanking any for help. Are you going to start doing thatt?

Donnie Gemes at Show-Me Gunstocks (660/438-4568). Fast and reasonable. The question is how close you want the duplication?

Really good and reasonable are not often found in the same place. In fact you are wrong to limit your choices to them. You should be looking for the best duplication you can get in a reasonable time frame. Do not skimp on either the quality of your blank or the quality of the job done in duplicating your pattern.

Sit down and make a short list of question you need to have answered before you go any further. How close can they cut the stock, .010 or .002-.005? It makes a difference. How long will the job take? What happens if your blanks has a hidden flaw? Will the stop the job and call you or finish the job and let you figure how to fix the stock. Will they evaluazte your blank before they start or will they just cut it and be done? They might see a problem that you have missed with your blank. Are you willing to let them adjust the blank layout? The more you learn before the job the happier you will be after the job. Surprise is not a good word in this case.

I would call Michael M. Kokolus---phone number 570-924-3279. He is easy to talk to if you respect his time and ask reasonable questions.

KY ,you are right.Their are still questions that have to be answered.I have one that comes to mind. When you have your pattern stock finished and are ready for the duplicator. What tolerances should you ask for.The pattern will be an exact fit.Should the outside be only .05 " over and all in-letting be exact or should you get it a little under.I have never done this before and are trying to learn, and before i go.Thanks for any help anyone will give one will give.

Good, Fast, Cheap. You can have any two of the three. Good and fast, but it won't be cheap. Cheap and fast, but it won't be good. Cheap and good but it won't be fast. All three is almost impossible
