Jimmy W. As to the "Golden Years" wait and see as you age. Most of the gold goes to doctors and denists and some to a barrister too. I refer to it as the titanium age as both my hip and knee are constructed of that. But what the heck I'm enjoying it. As far as firearms don't own with gold in the name, and don't ever see buying any either, unless the gold is in inlays.

Put some of that Gold Bond powder on there... the oldsters say it does wonders.
Yep.. Remington Golden Bullets, how could I forget. They used to be good too, now nobody can make 22 rimfires that actually fire except CCI and they're sold out a year in advance.
Years ago I used to work for a clown who had a "Gold Edition" Cadillac DeVille. I was assigned the task of purchasing a new hood orniment for it ($250) because the old one had started to turn green. Imagine gold corroding just like it was made of, oh, brass or something...

If you look closely, you can see a printed warning label on our money, " In Gold We Trust".

Gold Bond Powder....there used to be this old guy at my gym...he was in his 80's. Bless his heart. He would take a shower then stand in the dressing area, naked, and douse himself in that stuff. There would be a heavy white powder ring on the floor with the outline of his feet in the middle. You could walk in the front door and tell by the smell if he had been there.
He finally got kicked out - I don't mind telling you I was one of the complainers - because he would go in the sauna in his underwear, get soaking wet with sweat, then get out and stretch his undies over the hand air dryer and for the next 15 minutes keep hitting the button until they were dry.

But, I still have all my teeth which are in good shape, just had a colonoscopy- check. I quit smoking last year and I just lost 50 pounds between the middle of July and the middle of August, so I am back down under 200 pounds and watching my diet. I usually play basketball every evening or go for a nice walk. So, I am good to go for a while. Buying a nice gun with my first few SS checks should help ease all of the minor aches and pains.

Hooray for Titanium, Platinum, and Diamond!
But what about poor old neglected Sulfur and Zinc? Yttrium is being completely neglected, and Carbon demonized and taxed!

Let us also recall "Murphy's Laws- his spin on the Golden Rule"--"He who has the most gold, rules!" O.T. a tad, but still a precious metal- back in the days of radio and The Lone Ranger show out of Detroit- a lad from a nearby orphanage had somehow wandered in the studio through the backstage door- he sees the old Lonester, mask, gunbelt and all walking towards him- utters the classic line "Who are you, Masked Man" The Lonester is taken aback, he can't believe the boy doesn't recognize his Star Power, so he whips out a bullet from the gun belt and hands it to the boy, and said "Here, sonny, maybe this will tell you who I am!" The lad looks it over carefully, and handing it back says "I'll be darned, you're one of those rich $#@-*&^%$ aren't you?""
"The field is the touchstone of the man"..

Back in the early 1900s, a long-forgotten gun writer, in the course of a sarcastic attack on skybusters, suggested they make their shot out of gold - a golden pellet, being a third again heavier than lead, will havу respectively longer hitting range. Now, who knows, the irony might one day turn serious and some gold shot shells hit the market - gold is soft enough, heavy enough... and its's non-tox!
