Ken: My 1882 Parker price list states that you could buy a Quality U with twist barrels and a straight grip for $50.00. On the other end you could buy the best that they had, Qualty A Grade for $300.00. It had the "finest Damascus steel barrels, finest imported walnut stock, gold shield, finest checkering and engraving, combined with finest workmanship and finish throught and with skeleton butt plate. Straight or Pistol Grip in either 10 or 12 gauge.
For $150.00 you could buy a Quality C Grade with fine Bernard steel barrels, Fine imported walnut stock, silver shield, fine checkering and engraving, skeleton butt plate, straight or pistol grip in 10 or 12 gauge.
Wouldn't it be great to find one still in the box on the top shelf of an old general store?
Best Regards, George
