I have a line on a belgian backaction hammergun.
It is plain as day,most case colors are there,and blue too.
It is clean and tight,but no names anywhere on it,just proofmarks on the barrels bottoms.It is a guild gun,and is complete
with 27"bbls about.It has shoddy polishing work in the watertable of the action which leads me to believe knockabout grade.
Wood is plain but sound,chechering is all there,simple pattern on a
prince W grip.
The tag says 950.
is this about right? or what shall I counteroffer??
Im not hardup for it,but its cute and light,and
did I mention it has 28-65 chambers?

Maybe a little high in today's market. A couple of years ago I bought a Belgian 16 Damascus hammer gun from one of the members here. Think I paid $850, and condition/quality seem a bit better than the one you describe. Nice gun for the money, and it took care of my jones for a hammer 16.

How often does one see a 28ga. hammer gun? Seems some people want that for import junk. Good luck
